Mika van Vonderen (1970) is a visionary. Growing up as a farmer’s daughter in a family of five in a little town called Zeeland (North Brabant), she dreamed about freedom. Like a butterfly she fluttered through her care-free childhood. However, a stubborn butterfly she was! ‘I always did it my way, or I didn’t do it at all’. She occupied herself with ‘creating beautiful things’; painting, fumbling with all kinds of materials, building huts and braiding with reeds.

Mika van Vonderen (1970) é uma visionária. Tendo crescido como filha de um agricultor numa família de cinco pessoas, numa pequena cidade chamada Zeeland (Brabante do Norte), sonhava com a liberdade. Como uma borboleta, esvoaçou durante a sua infância despreocupada. No entanto, era uma borboleta teimosa! Fazia sempre as coisas à minha maneira, ou não as fazia de todo”. Ocupava-se em “criar coisas bonitas”: pintar, brincar com todo o tipo de materiais, construir cabanas e entrançar canas.
